Kernels Nashville Popcorn has been a Music City staple for over a decade, tantalizing taste buds with bold and unique flavors like “Nashville Hot” and “Music City Mix”. But co-owner Amber Greer craved more. She felt a desire to push the boundaries and elevate the business to a new level, but she felt stuck, stating she was “working for my business and not on it.”
NBIC’s R.I.S.E. UP Academy became the catalyst for change, helping her discover a key game-changer: delegation. Empowered by NBIC’s guidance, Amber promoted two managers, freeing her up to finally focus on the big picture, and strategizing for the future. NBIC’s R.I.S.E. UP Academy also helped Amber sharpen her focus, cultivating the creation of strong SOPs that laid the foundation for consistent, productive meetings. This focused the efforts of her entire team.
Even with these strong processes and procedures being implemented through NBIC, Amber recalls the real magic of being in the community NBIC supported her. “I’m part of a group of nine other women entrepreneurs, all facing similar challenges.” This sisterhood became a space where women business owners were able to “pop” ideas off each other, celebrate wins, and tackle losses, together. It’s a powerful support system that helps keep Amber not only motivated but accountable. Through the R.I.S.E. UP Academy, Amber was paired with a dedicated accountability partner with a similar business plan. Through this curated match, Amber and her partner have been able to keep each other on track and encourage each other to stick to their committed goals.
Understanding the demands of running a business, Amber points out that NBIC emphasizes self-care. Something that resonates deeply, Amber admits, “As a business owner, you have to make time for yourself. Having a group of amazing women who understand the struggle is important.”
Amber now feels encouraged to empower other entrepreneurs to take a leap of faith. “If you are a small business owner and are looking for help or need tools that can assist you in growing your business, NBIC is the place!”
